Volunteers celebrate Arbor Day during fourth
Purdue Day of Service

In celebration of Arbor Day and National Volunteer Month, 100 volunteers planted 260 trees at Purdue’s Horticulture Park on Friday, April 26, as part of a special spring Purdue Day of Service. Since the event launched in 2021, more than 450 volunteers have planted 861 trees at select campus locations.

Purdue University hosts inaugural Entrepreneurial Alumni Reunion

Purdue University hosted a first-of-its-kind reunion for alumni innovators and entrepreneurs November 9–11 on the university’s West Lafayette campus. The inaugural Entrepreneurial Alumni Reunion, which was attended by approximately 200 Boilermaker entrepreneurs, convened experts from Purdue leadership, successful Boilermaker alumni, and emerging startups ready to make an impact on the world.

Purdue Global honors 22 students with first-generation college student scholarships

In honor of First-Generation College Student Day, which is celebrated each year on November 8, Purdue Global presented 22 students with First-Generation College Student Scholarships. Recipients received $500 toward their Purdue Global tuition and fees. The number of recipients is based on the funds raised annually through the Purdue for Life Foundation.

Purdue Global cuts ribbon on first military base extension

Leaders from Purdue University’s Office of Industry Partnerships, Purdue Global and Vandenberg Space Force Base held a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the establishment of a Purdue Global education office within Vandenberg’s education center. This represents the first time Purdue Global has opened an extension office on a military base, specifically designed to serve military-affiliated students and the surrounding community.

Mindy Schultz remembers a time when she repeatedly drove her car over a small tree by mistake. Now, she plants trees—with purpose. Schultz, a 21-year Purdue employee, redeemed herself by volunteering to plant trees during the 2023 Purdue Day of Service.

Introducing the Tyler Trent Pediatric Cancer Research Center

Tyler Trent (AS T’18) was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, at 15 years old. Despite his diagnosis, he was determined to attend Purdue University and have a normal college experience. While undergoing aggressive cancer treatment, Tyler maintained a positive attitude, inspiring millions.
