RESOURCES
Offer guidance through career transitions, graduate school preparation, or industry exploration. Mentorship is facilitated through Purdue Ties, where you can participate in alumni-to-alumni or alumni-to-student mentorship programming. The Mock Career Fair is a great way to help students improve their resume, elevator pitch, attire, and more. We are also looking for businesses that would like to host an in-person or virtual tour of their office to talk with students about internship and job opportunities.
Lend your experience to help student leaders in areas such as academics, recruitment, and new member education. There are also opportunities to serve your chapter or house’s alumni board to help manage the property.
If you have entrepreneurial experience or are a subject-matter expert, volunteer to coach or mentor with the Purdue Foundry, which supports early-stage startups.
Speak at a professional development workshop or conference for students or alumni.
Share your experiences during a panel discussion at a conference or networking event.
Help plan events, recruit members, or lead initiatives.
Serve on the board for Purdue-affiliated organizations, providing guidance, oversight, and leadership. Participate in board meetings, provide expertise, and collaborate with fellow board members.
Help shape the future of Purdue alumni engagement. The Purdue Alumni Association is organized independently of the university as a nonprofit and, as such, is led by a volunteer board of directors. Elections occur every two years, and members of the alumni association from all over the globe are eligible to participate. Alumni members who sign up to participate in the election will be voted on by other members. Terms last for two years and involve two visits to campus annually.
Help provide space for clubs or networks to hold activities or meetings.
Alumni clubs host fundraisers for their scholarships for incoming and returning Purdue students with silent auctions.
