The Purdue University Board of Trustees on Aug. 6 approved naming the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) for the family of alumnus William B. Elmore in recognition of a $25 million gift. The school will be known as the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

After celebrating a record number of gifts during its 12th annual Day of Giving, Purdue continues to set the standard for single-day fundraising in American higher education. The 24-hour online, social media-driven fundraising effort brought in $105.1 million through 36,875 gifts—bringing Purdue Day of Giving’s cumulative total since its launch in 2014 to $602.1 million.
