SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS

Scott Niswonger (AAS T’68, HDR T’04) had always dreamed of flying an airplane. He received his private pilot’s license when he was just 17, the youngest age possible to obtain one. Upon graduating from Purdue with a degree in aviation technology, Niswonger led an outstanding career as a businessman, aviator, entrepreneur, community leader, and philanthropist. In 2004, Purdue awarded him an honorary doctorate for his work.

In 2013, Niswonger established the Holleman-Niswonger Endowed Scholarship for Aviation Technology to support Purdue undergraduate students in the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology, which hundreds of students have benefited from.
