Important Application Information

The application for Fall 2027 admission can be found here. The application will close on Thursday, November 5th at noon. 

This scholarship is available to domestic, first year students at Purdue University planning to enroll in a program eligible major in Fall 2027.

It is recommended that you complete your application in one session. In addition to basic contact and educational information, you will be asked to answer the following questions:

  • “Please share any honors, accolades, or awards you have received during your high school career.”
  • “Describe your involvement in extracurricular activities, employment, work-study programs, internships, etc.”
  • “Please provide a brief personal statement outlining your financial need and how this scholarship could provide you greater access to Purdue University.”
  • “The Lilly Scholars at Purdue Program is designed to develop interest and talent in pharmaceutical manufacturing. You can learn more about the field by visiting- https://www.lilly.com/medicines/safety/manufacturing-quality. Please share your educational and/or career goals and how they relate to the Lilly Scholars at Purdue program and the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. You may also include any specific factors that, or person(s) who, have influenced your decision to pursue this program.”
  • “The Lilly Scholars at Purdue program seeks students from under-resourced urban and rural communities, those who have overcome socioeconomic or educational disadvantages, or are among the first in their family to attend college, as well as those with a shared commitment to reducing barriers to education. Please answer both of the following questions.
    • Describe any obstacles you have encountered based on educational access, and how your ability to meet such challenges has prepared you for the Lilly Scholars at Purdue experience.
    • Describe a time your curiosity led you to your own personal or academic growth. What did you discover about yourself in the process?

Consideration will only be given to those who apply to Purdue University by the Early Action application deadline of November 1.

November 3, 2025

Review the Lilly Scholars Overview/Opt-in Process and apply to the program by November 3.

January 2026

Notification for those accepted to the Lilly Scholars at Purdue program will be included in the admission decision letters that will be released in January.

November 1 2024:

Scholarship details

The Lilly Scholars at Purdue program covers full tuition. Starting with the admitted class of Fall 2026 (Cohort 4), the program will also cover program differential fees. The actual awarded scholarship amount varies depending your residency and the number of credits enrolled in each semester. To understand the estimated cost of attendance at Purdue, click here.

Housing and food, books and course materials, supplies and equipment, transportation, and other expected costs are not included in this scholarship.

In order to renew their scholarships, students must follow the guidelines outlined below:

  • Scholars must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Complete the Pharma Careers for Lilly Scholars during the fall of their first year at Purdue
  • Participate in a guaranteed, paid internship at Lilly during the first or second semester of their sophomore year
  • Take part in programming designed to increase familiarity with the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
  • Maintain touchpoints with Lilly Scholars at Purdue program staff
  • Complete formal scholarship renewal and uphold academic standards per Purdue University and the Lilly Scholars at Purdue agreement
    • Scholars must maintain continuous, full-time enrollment each semester (minimum of 12 or more credit hours), excluding summer and winter sessions.
    • Scholars must remain in the disciplinary college or school to which they were originally admitted until the end of the third week of the fall semester.
    • Scholars must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0. GPA is checked annually at the end of each spring semester. If a Lilly Scholar at Purdue has a GPA below 3.0 at the end of the spring term but enrolls in summer courses to increase said GPA, the GPA will be checked again at the end of the summer term.
