The President’s Council Advisory Board aids us in our mission to recruit, retain, and recognize loyal donors, advocates, and volunteers who support Purdue University. Through their counsel, strategies are developed to keep the President’s Council family engaged and connected to campus, whether near or far.

Joanne Ruth Barrick

Joanne Barrick is currently Sr. Director of Global Validation Support, within Technical Services/ Manufacturing Science at Eli Lilly and Company. Joanne’s team provides process, cleaning, and packaging validation training and support to Lilly sites throughout the world. Prior to joining Lilly in 2003, Joanne worked in various operations and technical services roles at Upjohn/Pharmacia/Pfizer.

Over the past decade, Joanne has been very active in the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) – a professional society of over 20,000 members. She was named ISPE Member of the Year in 2012 and Chaired the ISPE Committee of the Year in 2014. She led the ISPE Process Validation Team to provide industry guidance for practical implementation of the lifecyle approach to manufacturing process validation. She has been contributing author to discussion papers, articles and Good Practice Guides and has led and presented at numerous conferences. She was elected to the ISPE Board of Directors (BOD) in 2014, to the ISPE BOD Executive Committee in 2018, and Chaired the International Board of Directors during 2020-2021.

Joanne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Purdue University, graduating in 1984 and previously served on the Purdue College of Pharmacy Alumni Board. She received the Purdue Women for Pharmacy Leadership Award in 2015, President’s Council Distinguished Pinnacle Award in 2022 and was named a Purdue College of Pharmacy Distinguished Alum in 2023. Joanne resides in Brownsburg, Indiana and her hobbies include a variety of sports and community service activities.

Dr. Kevin T. Campbell

While at Purdue, Kevin was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and trained in Jujitsu. He often traveled home to Windfall, IN, working as a car mechanic to help pay for his education. During Pharmacy School, he met his wife, Sue, and they married in 1978.

Kevin worked as a pharmacist for two years before entering Dental School at IU, continuing part-time pharmacy work until graduating in 1983. After working as a dental associate in South Bend, he opened his own practice in Granger. He also spent seven years as a clinical instructor of Dental Hygiene at IU South Bend.

Throughout his career, Kevin volunteered at church and his children’s schools, especially with the high school marching band. After 40 years of dentistry, he retired in 2022, and a year later, he and Sue moved to a home on Purdue’s campus, where they enjoy attending sporting events and campus activities.

Kevin and Sue have four children, all Purdue graduates: Katie (mechanical engineer), Mike and Jennifer (pharmacists), and Dan (entrepreneur). They also have 10 grandchildren, whom they hope will be future Boilermakers!

Susan (Sue) Speckhard Campbell

Sue was the first in her family to attend Purdue, where she was active in Purdue Musical Organizations, Grand Prix, Delta Gamma Sorority, Alpha Sigma Phi (as a little sis), and worked as a biology lab instructor. She was also involved at University Lutheran Church (ULU) and enjoyed playing sports at the CoRec since there were no women’s intercollegiate sports at the time.

Sue met her husband, Kevin, at Purdue, and they married in 1978. After eight years of teaching high school and college biology, Sue took 20 years off to raise their four children, during which she volunteered extensively at their schools, church, and the Penn Marching Band. All of their children attended Purdue and were active in Purdue Bands, which Sue and Kevin continue to support.

Sue returned to work in 2002 at Penn High School, retiring in 2017. After Kevin retired in 2022, they moved to Purdue’s campus, where they enjoy attending sporting events, lectures, and concerts, and traveling the world with the Purdue President’s Council.

Dr. Jeffrey Scot Hackleman

Jeff is a family practice optometrist in his multi-doctor private practice in Watkinsville, Georgia. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association, where he has served in various leadership roles. Currently, Jeff chairs the Georgia Optometric Association Leadership Academy and serves as an appointed member of the Georgia State Board of Optometry. He’s been recognized by his colleagues and patients as the Georgia Young Optometrist of the Year, the Georgia Optometrist of the Year and received The Ohio State University Optometry Early Professional Achievement Award. In his local community, Jeff chairs the M&K Foundation, is active in Rotary International, and serves Oconee County Fire Rescue as a volunteer certified firefighter.

While at Purdue Jeff was active in Sigma Chi Fraternity and Purdue Interfraternity Council (IFC), culminating with roles as president of the Purdue IFC and chairman of the Iron Key Senior Leadership Honorary. His other campus involvement included Alpha Epsilon Delta, Golden Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, Skull and Crescent, and Gimlet. His awards while at Purdue include the MIFCA Jellison Award, the Purdue Class of ’37 Scholarship, the GP Foundation Scholarship, the Debris Yearbook Outstanding Senior, the Sigma Chi Balfour Award, the G.A. Ross Award, a student speaker at Purdue’s Commencement, and Purdue’s Homecoming King.

Jeff and his Boilermaker bride of 28 years, Tricia, have two daughters. Claire is a senior majoring in math education at the University of Georgia and Paige, a 4th generation Boilermaker, is a sophomore in Purdue’s College of Engineering.

Tricia Jonas Hackleman

Tricia is a Senior Lecturer of Legal Studies in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and was recently named the new Director of the Legal Studies Certificate Program at Terry College. Additionally, Tricia was awarded the Terry College of Business 2022 Instructional Excellence Award and was named a University of Georgia Center for Teaching and Learning Fellow for Transformative Teaching.

While at Purdue, Tricia was a School of Liberal Arts Dean’s Freshman Scholar, as well as a member of the Iron Key Senior Leadership Honorary, the Purdue Foundation Student Board 1994 Senior Class Gift Executive Committee, and Order of Omega Academic and Leadership Honorary. Tricia was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, serving the Greek community in a variety of roles, including as President of the Panhellenic Association. In recent years, Tricia has served on the Purdue University Honors College Dean’s Advisory Council and the Vice Provost for Student Life Advisory Board.

Tricia married Jeff, a fellow Boilermaker, in 1995, and is the mother of Claire and Paige–both following in their mother’s footsteps as members of Kappa Alpha Theta.

Gregory James Adams

Greg spent most of his career in sales and sales management, working for Schneider Electric (formerly Square D), Siemens Energy & Automation, and Cummins Inc. He spent twelve years overseas in Singapore (twice) and in the UK/Belgium. While attending Purdue, he met his future wife, Amy, also an Industrial Engineer. Greg was an active member of Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) fraternity.

Since retiring, Greg has been active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Merciful HELP Center food pantries. He recently joined the board of the Purdue Alumni Club of Southwest Florida. Greg and Amy are longtime members of the John Purdue Club. They have one daughter, Alexis, who also earned her BS in Industrial Engineering (2019).

Amy Mullane Adams

Amy recently retired after a 37-year career with large multinational companies. For the past 30 years, she worked at Cummins Inc., leading multiple global and regional businesses. For nearly half of her career, she was based outside the United States, with postings in Singapore, Belgium, and Canada. Amy now serves on the board of Suburban Propane and previously spent six years on the national board of Girls Inc. She earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue and a Master of Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

While at Purdue, Amy participated in numerous activities. She was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority and Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society. She also completed a co-op program with General Motors in Dayton, Ohio.

Amy met her husband, Greg, a fellow Industrial Engineer, at Purdue. They have a daughter, Lexi, who is also a Purdue Industrial Engineering graduate. The Adamses are passionate Purdue sports fans and season ticket holders, and they enjoy traveling to football bowl games and basketball tournaments.

Scott Alan Briney

Scott has made a career in the pharmaceutical industry holding a variety of roles in sales, market access, and leadership. While at Purdue, he was active in leadership at Harrison Hall and served as Social Chairman at his Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He continues an ongoing bond with his Brothers through various social and philanthropic efforts.

Over 30 years as an Alumni volunteer, he served on the Purdue Club of Chicago Board, an organization he went on to lead. He was honored with the Purdue Outstanding Young Alumni award in 2002 and served on the Purdue Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2003-2006. Scott was also recently elected for a new term as Director within the PAA Board. As a Life Member of the Alumni Association and longstanding member of the John Purdue Club, he proudly supports President’s Council and its programming.

Scott and his wife Krista had triplets in 2003 and raised them in the Chicago suburb of Roselle. They both served on the Lutheran General Hospital NICU Family Advisory Board and were heavily involved within the community and Church. In 2022, the family moved to Indiana, and now their home in Lafayette allows them to be active with campus activities and new forms of volunteerism. In their free time, Scott and Krista enjoy time with friends, family, and their college age kids at their Lake Shafer cottage in Monticello.

Patsy J. Mellott

Patsy earned a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition in business from Purdue in 1969, in addition to an MBA in food marketing from Michigan State University in 1970. She retired from Kraft Foods in 2006 after 36 years in corporate food marketing and marketing communications management.

A community volunteer, Patsy serves on the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana Advisory Board and the Purdue College of Health and Human Sciences Dean’s Leadership Council, in addition to the President’s Council Advisory Board. She is a former member of the Health and Human Sciences Alumni Board. Patsy held several offices from 2006 through 2013, including president and treasurer. She serves her community’s Discover Indianapolis Club in Fishers, holding several leadership roles for over 10 years.

Patsy has received several honors, including the Purdue University Nutrition Science Department Hall of Fame recipient in 2009 and the Purdue University College of Health and Human Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016. She also received the college’s Gold and Black Award in 2016, an honor reserved for donors who have moved the college forward by committing exceptional financial resources.

In addition to endowing two scholarships, the Patsy J. Mellott Scholarship and Patsy J. Mellott HHS Scholarship, she established the Patsy J. Mellott Teaching Innovation Award in the College of Health and Human Sciences in 2013. In 2015, she endowed the Patsy J. Mellott Women’s Tennis Coach Performance Award. She is a lead donor in the Christine M. Ladisch Faculty Leadership Award and the Purdue Women’s Network Virginia C. Meredith Scholarship for the College of Health and Human Sciences.

Barbara A. Meyer

Barb is a stylist with Cabi Clothing, a women’s apparel brand based in Los Angeles. She was a four-year member of Grand Prix while at Purdue serving as Director of Promotions her senior year.

Barb graduated from the College of Liberal Arts in 1992.

Barb met Scott when they were both Purdue students, and they have three children—Nicholas, Riley, and Shelby (BS Science 2018). Their daughter Riley is a senior studying marketing in the Krannert School of Management. They love living near campus and being connected to the Purdue community through their church St. Thomas Aquinas and hosting events for Zucrow Graduate Students.

Scott E. Meyer

After eight years of running wind tunnel and rocket engine testing for defense contractors, Scott returned to Purdue in 2001 to begin work at Zucrow Laboratories. Working with Zucrow faculty and graduate students, Scott lead the development of new high-pressure propellant systems and testing capabilities. In 2009, he was named the managing director of Zucrow. Scott lead the collaborative design effort to construct the High Pressure Combustion Lab, which was completed in 2017. He was recently tapped by the EVPRP to support the design and execution of the new Hypersonics & Applied Research Facility which will be constructed at Zucrow Labs.

Scott received his BS in 1990 and his MS in 1992 from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. While a Purdue student, he was a member of FarmHouse social fraternity and performed graduate work at Zucrow Labs, then known as the Thermal Sciences and Propulsion Center. Most recently, in 2019, Scott was given an AAE Outstanding Aerospace Engineer award.

Alysa Christmas Rollock

Alysa Christmas Rollock is Purdue University’s Vice President for Ethics and Compliance. She serves as the University’s chief ethics and compliance officer, as well as its equal opportunity officer. She is also a member of the University’s legal council.

Alysa received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her law degree from Yale University School of Law. Alysa serves on the Board of Directors of YMCA Camp Tecumseh, the Board of Directors of North Central Health Services, Inc., and the Alumnae Association Board of Kent Place School.
Alysa and her husband, David, have three children: Theodore, Miriam and Daniel.

David Rollock

David Rollock is 150th Anniversary Professor and Professor of Psychological Sciences. He is an affiliated faculty member of Purdue’s African American Studies and Research Center, and is Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology, Indiana University School of Medicine.

David earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, and his masters and doctorate from Yale University. His empirical research, teaching, and applied interests center on adjustment among American ethnic and cultural minorities. David is president of the Indiana Association of Black Psychologists, a member of the grants board for North Central Health Services, Inc. and chair of the Purdue Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff.

David was inducted into Purdue’s Book of Great Teachers in 2008, and received Purdue’s highest undergraduate teaching honor, the “Murphy Award,” in 2012.

Rebecca (Becky) Held Scholtes

Rebecca was a four-year starter for the Purdue Volleyball team and one of the first recruited players, helping her teams secure two Big Ten Championships. She married John Scholtes in 1982 and supported his nearly 40-year career at Ford Motor Company as they lived abroad in Taiwan, England, Brazil, South Africa, and China. During this time, Rebecca was actively involved in various charities and PTAs at her children’s schools.

Rebecca and John are grateful to have all four of their grown children and five grandchildren living close by in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
